2005 Accord V6 Hybrid, best selling car from Honda images released

Honda released the images for its 2005 Accord V6 Hybrid, gas electric hybrid version of Honda best selling car which will be with dealers for sale later this year. The new hybrid will have power and performance better then its current 240-HP Accord V6 with better fuel economy.
Honda's (VCM) Variable Cylinder Management increases the efficiency of the vehicle by deactivating 3 of 6 cylinder engine during cruising and deceleration with no change for performance of the car.
Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system uses high output electric motor-generator providing more efficient engine operation by capturing electrical energy during braking or deceleration and use of that energy to power the vehicle hence saving valuable fuel. The engine shut off during stops further increases efficiency of the vehicle.

If the Hybrid Accord gets as bad gas mileage as the Hybrid Civic then it does not make sense to spend the extra for the Hybrid. Most Hybrid Civics get 35 MPG. The advertised guess was 49 MPG. Over 25% less. I hope the new Hybrid Accord gets close to the gas mileage Honda predicts.
i have a hybrid ( civic ) it is getting 47 mpg

I just bought the Accord Hybrid 2 months ago with the understanding that I can take HOV in the car (I live in Virginia). I just found out today that the DMV decided that while the other hybrid models qualify for special clean fuel tags, the Accord Hybrid does not. Although I saw one just 2 days ago with the special tags. But apparantly they are no longer going to allow it. Given the fact that I am commited to a green car, it's not too devastating, but I have to say that I think that will kill the desire for a lot of people in this state with huge traffic problems to get one. It already cost us 8k more than a regular model - without the HOV allowance, I'm not sure about how effective it will be anymore.
